Mmm, garden fresh waffles. I love 'em fresh-picked, with the dew still on 'em....

What's next? Low carb waffles at Waffle House?

The insane craze has hit everywhere else--you know :-)

[identity profile] patricks.livejournal.com 2004-06-19 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
Fresh-picked waffles off the waffle bushes, and low-hanging butter cubes from the butter trees. Maybe they have maple trees growing inside, and instead of a pitcher of syrup you just jam a spigot in the tree and hold your plate under it? Hm.

that'd be an improvement over the present decor (or lack thereof..)

So many yuppie bastards demanded salads at Waffle House that the chain finally decided to sell them. But, as they say, be careful what you wish for!

Why does this remind me of recent McDonald's signs advertising sushi? Those signs said "What's next, valet parking?" I actually had to pull over for a while the first time I saw that.

Dude... I read your comment this morning before breakfast. McDonald's sushi. I nearly hurled. They have profaned the name of sushi.

You like sushi?

[identity profile] orfeo517.livejournal.com 2004-06-21 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't seen or heard anything else about McDonalds sushi, so maybe they came to their senses.

Yeah, I like sushi a lot. My mother married a Japanese man in the 90's, a guy she'd know for years. He was a pretty good cook, and he and his friends introduced me to all kinds of good stuff. Before I met him, I wasn't even sure what sushi was:)

[identity profile] kellinator.livejournal.com 2004-06-28 09:55 am (UTC)(link)
I adore sushi. Then again, I tend to stick with the tamer stuff, like salmon and tuna. Wanna go get some sometime?

[identity profile] orfeo517.livejournal.com 2004-06-28 10:06 am (UTC)(link)
Sure. Do you know of a good place around Atlanta?

[identity profile] kellinator.livejournal.com 2004-06-28 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
I hear that Shallots in Roswell is pretty good and has all-you-can-eat for $15.95. (If I don't go for a buffet, I usually end up in extreme wallet pain.) I'm looking into it right now.

I've been to Rusan's (sic?) across from Ansley mall. They have very good sushi. There's also a good place in Brookhaven on Peachtree Road, but I can't remember the name.

[identity profile] kellinator.livejournal.com 2004-06-28 10:37 am (UTC)(link)
Rusan's is Good Stuff. It's probably not the "best" sushi in Atlanta but it probably is the most affordable. I hit their lunch buffet as often as I can.

So many options... is your head starting to spin too? ;)

[identity profile] orfeo517.livejournal.com 2004-06-28 11:00 am (UTC)(link)
Yep! Any decent place is fine with me. I do like the places where the sushi chefs all shout greetings when you enter. "Konbanwa!"

[identity profile] kellinator.livejournal.com 2004-06-28 11:04 am (UTC)(link)
Well, perhaps we should start with the days and times. When's good for you?

[identity profile] orfeo517.livejournal.com 2004-06-28 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
Most of my time is free this summer. I'm going to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but only in the daytime. In other words, pretty much anytime is fine.

[identity profile] kellinator.livejournal.com 2004-06-28 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I could do tomorrow evening, or is that too soon?

[identity profile] orfeo517.livejournal.com 2004-06-28 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing is too soon for me. My reflexes are pretty good:)

My last class is 3:10 PM. Where do you want to go?

[identity profile] kellinator.livejournal.com 2004-06-28 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Let's see... I don't get out of work till around 6. Do you have any definite opinions on places, areas, etc?

[identity profile] kellinator.livejournal.com 2004-06-28 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Tell ya what. I don't have net access at home, so if you need to get a hold of me, text-message me your number from my userinfo page. This should be fun! :)

[identity profile] orfeo517.livejournal.com 2004-06-28 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you get my text message?
