Then I started explaining specific plot points and he mocked me for referring to Bayliss as "Timmy." I'd mock his fandom, if only he had one...

I think of him as Timmy all the time...unfortunate Lassie associations notwithstanding(Which I thought was an unfortunately missed opportunity for banter when our guy Timmy was mocking Emma Zoole's boyfriend's name in season 3.)

um, Bayliss is Timmy. Timmy is Bayliss.
what exactly's the problem? doesn't everybody think of TV characters by their nicknames? (I mean, see Spike here? he's "blondie bear" to me pretty much all the time -) doesn't everybody obsess about their hairstyles?

and everybody has a fandom, if you dig deep enough. This I know!
