being a little blatant here

Yeah, I know, we all bitch about attention-whoring on LJ, but let's face it. To some extent, if you have an LJ, you are probably an attention whore. Unless you make all your entries private and disable commenting or something. In which case why would you bother putting it online in the first place?

But yeah. I've gotten the attention-whoring far more under control than I did in, say, my first year here or something. But I figure it's okay to ask for a little attention now and then. Especially since I've seen people I think of as strong and confident do the same thing, so yeah. Maybe it's okay to ask for what you need (or want) sometimes.

There's nothing at all wrong with wanting attention now and then. We're all trapped in our own skins, and if we aren't able to say, "Help," then how can our friends know we need it? So not only is it something to do without shame (provided it's not constant of course, all things in moderation,) it's almost a... responsibility on our part to let our friends know that their words/feelings/thoughts are needed and important.

Ya know, a little attention whoring is fine as long as it's not done ALL the time and as long as you're always able to be the first to poke fun at yourself. And as long as your attention whoring isn't, like [livejournal.com profile] ijk said, always fishing for compliments. You've got every right to indulge in a litte every now and then. I still love you. And I'm all about the attention whoring. Mostly because I love seeing what random crap my weird-ass friends will come up with. That's the BEST part about polls!

I just thought this was an appropriate post to reply to so that you'd know that I didn't forget when I got home. :) I so enjoyed meeting you tonight! Oh, and this is the icon I was talking about, the one where I actually did more than resize and add text. It's not fancy but it is for me. :) I'm adding you!
