I guess it's true, only the good die young.

I guess I have to write this at some point.

[livejournal.com profile] kimosabi46 passed away yesterday, of leukemia. Most of us didn't even know she was sick.

Joy was one of those people that I always wanted to get to know better. On LJ, she was caring and interesting. I didn't get to hang out with her in person many times, but when I did, she always made me feel really welcome. As cliche as it may sound, she was one of those people who lit up the room. Joy was a pure soul. The world is a lesser place without her.

My deepest condolences to her friends and family, especially [livejournal.com profile] thorax86, the friend I met her through. I'm thinking of you.

And -- yes, I know it's cliche, but it's cliche for a reason -- remember that the time we have is short, sometimes shorter than we realize. Let someone know that you care about them. Life's too short for regrets.

Rest in peace, Joy.

I read her through Bob, I wish I had taken the time to get to know her better. From what people tell me I have missed an amazing chance.

She was a truly special person.

I didn't know her, but...

I am sorry for your loss. Sad but true: we neevr know when the last time will be.

I grieve with thee.

Thank you, very much.

Thanks! Joy was the type of person that would never want attention for her illness. I dearly wanted to let people know about her condition. She did not want me to tell people so I did not. I kept thinking any week she was going to be home. She kept having setbacks. I held on to my hope until the moment I got the phone call. I was happy that she no longer had to suffer, but crushed at her loss. She has been my friend since the mid to late 80's. No one will ever replace her. I am still in shock and I have had weeks to prepare for this possibility. Thanks for your kind words.

Hon, I'm thinking of you and I truly wish there were more I could say.

You two had a very special friendship. I hope those memories will be a comfort to you. And when you feel like it, I hope you'll come out to [livejournal.com profile] margarita_fri and tell me some Joy stories and let us try to cheer you up.

*hugs*

I again see the mention of Margaritas. ;-) I posted this to Ilexx about a tradition Joy and I had:

For the last few years she and I would often go out on Mondays for Mexican and Margaritas. I never want to have Mexican food again on a Monday. Mexican and Margaritas on Monday are permanently reserved for Joy.

I will def make it out sometime on friday! Thanks!

So very sorry for your loss. So sad that someone so young should leave this world so soon. But from what I've read she definitely made a difference. She apparently lived up to her name, Joy. As long as you and yours think of her this way she'll never be far away.

You're right. She was very well-named.

Thank you for your kind thoughts.
