SVU drabble

Well, I've finally managed to finish something I wrote. Don't hold it against me that it's just a 107-word drabble for the Bob Dylan challenge at thursday100. It's my first drabble, so I'm proud. And oh yeah, it has Munch. (Duh.)


Talkin' John Birch Paranoid Blues

“Look at this crap!” Munch threw down the flyer.

”Communism's dead, John. Disappointed?” Fin smirked at his partner.

“Oh sure. Make a joke of it. Crazy Munch and his crazy conspiracies. Wake up! This political climate is ripe for the resurgence of these right-wing wackjobs, stomping on anything that smells un-American, even the Constitution. I bet Ashcroft's a card-carrying member of the Birch Boys..."

“The Birch Boys? I love them!” Casey launched into a tuneless rendition of “I Get Around.”

Munch shot the ADA one of his patented over-the-glasses glares and left. As he stomped past, Olivia could have sworn she heard a muttered I miss Alex.

Good one...and even paranoid people can be right sometimes. Thought about him today...I now have dark glasses to look over at people. There is something to be said for this.(But I'll have to watch out for a complete transformation.)
And Kell, everyone knows that "Be True To Your School" is the single dorkiest thing in the Beach Boy oeuvre...I really hate that word...it's a bitch to spell, but most Munchly, don't you think?

Oh, yeah, what's not to like? I couldn't do that one, my Dylan's not sufficient, even with the French Dylan thing.You know, they never thought Belzer would ever get on TV cause he wasn't warm and likeable enough...that was like...mid-eighties or something.(In retrospect, kind of a cuddly TV era, except for the soaps.) His agent actually told him "You're funny but nobody likes you." Which of course makes us freakish. I love that story though. Because conventional wisdom turns out to be crap and the starving artist wins.

Dumb question: what's a drabble? Googling for it only turns up the syndicated comic strip. I'm guessing it means an extemporaneously written 100-word scene or snippet?

Some people have told me they think it's named for Margaret Drabble, who's a short story writer, but I can not confirm or deny.
When I write them they are almost always Munch or Kay.(I frequently go over with him, nsm with her)
If I take out the interjections, huh?)
