Two favors:

1). I really need some kind of icon to use when I mock the stupid. Is anyone feeling generous? *flutters eyelashes*

2). I've just started beta-ing, and though I'm not completely new to it because I took creative writing classes where you have to critique your classmates' stories, I don't know much about the etiquette of all of it. Can someone catch me up?

I take it the favors are entirely separate and any unintended correlation between the two are purely coincidence?

This post has some of the best "idiot" icons in the world. Inspired by the flamewar in the same journal over the few days previous.

I have a couple of mocking icons, but they probably aren't what you're looking for. ;) I have dat one, and...

... and this one!!

As a writer, I can tell you the worst thing you can do is compliment them because you don't want to hurt their feelings. If you don't like it, tell them so, but also tell them why. "You suck!" doesn't help anyone. "You suck because you wouldn't know a punctuation mark if it bit you in the ass!" Can sometimes offer worlds of assistance to an up and coming waiter or waitress.
