That's the sound of me realizing that my throat hurts.

Now, a sore throat in and of itself does not necessarily indicate anything. Hell, it could even be psychosomatic, considering that I really didn't want to get out of bed this morning. But when combined with the facts that half the people I know are sick, a flu epidemic is raging, and I made the grievious error of loudly proclaiming on multiple occasions that "I don't get the flu."

...Okay, I started this entry an hour ago before running errands and I'm already feeling worse, plus a co-worker says I'm starting to sound scratchy. That does it. If I'm not feeling better soon, I'm going home. What's the point of having sick leave if you don't use it when you're sick?

I think I picked up that bubonic plague thing that's been going around. On the other hand, that Advil Cold & Sinus is doing wonders for me this morning. I'm still poorly and sound like Tom Waits though.

Go home now. Stop only at Walgreens and get some echinicea, decongestants, cough drops and a box of Tissues. Also chocolate. Go home. You do NOT want to let that one get hold of you.
