There's a guy in our group who just picks his dice up and sets them down where he wants them, or barely "rolls" them. He rarely actually gets a decent number, and he's done it for so many years that we pretty much just roll our eyes (not on the table) and go with it, though occasionally one or another of the DMs will demand that he pick the die up, actually roll it in his palm and drop it from a height.
But by his next roll, he's right back to doing it the old way....
