Latest adventures in purple hair

I really did intend to go back to Feria for my next dye job. I mean it. Their conditioners rock. Whereas the Garnier Nutrisse seems to have dried out my hair. At least I think so.

But then... I saw the latest, newest shade of Garnier Lumia. Plum Orchid.

It's plum, people. Not cranberry. Not burgundy. Not reddish-plum. Plum. Real, live, purple plum.

*jumps up and down in anticipation*

And [livejournal.com profile] indiepunkrock and I have already practiced my defense: "It came in a box!" (The idea being, as long as you buy it at the grocery store and not Junkman's Daughter it should be work-safe.)

Anyone used Lumia before?

Yay for purple hair! I just recently got mine back to flaming-you-could-toast-marshmallows-over-it red. Nothing is better than telling your natural haircolor who's REALLY boss...

I've used it...it gives killer highlights, but the staying power is kinda iffy. I had to touch up after two weeks! That could be my stupid hair though, it doesn't take dye very well. I did black about three weeks ago (which from what I hear is extremely permanent on most people) and I already need to dye again!

I'm having trouble telling how my hair relates to dye. Right now it appears to be a brassy red-brown that I don't care for, but I don't know if that's a combination of all the dyes I've used on it lately or just plain bad luck.

I've been threatening to die my hair purple for months. My boss assures me that it's within our personnel policy but she always seems nervous when I ask her. :)

Lumia is pretty good. It's more of a temporary dye than Feria though, especially with a red or purple shade, so don't expect it to last more than a few weeks. That said, it sounds like an awesome color!

You are planning to post pictures, yes?

I've gone back to blonde, and Feria is totally my new hero.

The Clairol "Ultra Blue" always left me slightly orangey. But Feria's "Extra Bleach Blonde" is tres fantastique. And I agree with you -- their conditioner is magnificent.

I quite liked Lumia when I was using it, but it is more of an enhancement product than an actual dye. And I guess that is why it doesn't last as long as you would hope.

Currently, I am wearing Bronze Goddess, which I got at Sally. I like it a LOT. Which reminds me... time to fix the roots...thanks!
