The horror!!

Once again, the Onion hits a little too close to home.

There's a reason I don't use my last name here, folks...

That is precisely why my journal is FRIENDS ONLY!

My parents DID find it (via my blabbermouth little sister) when it was pretty new - and freaked out!

In a way I wish my parents read my journal so that they would really know what an anti-Christian lefty deviant I really am. Then when they would give me shit, I would say, "Well, looks like we have nothing in common. Get out of my life our I call the cops, you antique, no-fun harpie bastards, kthnx!"

Of course I have none of that courage whatsoever.

Heh. My professor's mother found my old web journal back when I was still an undergrad -- due to google and an entry where I reffered to him as "a punk-ass bitch." Fortunately, that was in reference to my beating him at poker, and he was highly amused. His mother apparently became an avid reader -- she would call him up and say things like "Wow, did you know Caroline was dumped by her boyfriend? Maybe you should cut her some slack in class..."

The commodore actually reads my journal on a regular basis.
I warn him about stumbling across content that could be scarring for him, but he seems unconcerned.
So far there hasn't been a problem at least for me.

don't mind me, i'm slow... especially when it's six o'clock on a long-ass work day, and i've eaten nothing but 12 oz of coke.

*Cringe*

Have you seen my LJ? My fiancee basically lost his job because he failed to lock the entries on his LJ. My parents have already hinted at having discovered my own thru the computer systems at work. There's a reason I went directly into lockdown after that :-)

I really wouldn't care either way. My mother knows about my LJ and has pretty much no interest in it, like most other parts of my life. Hell my girlfriend bearly reads it, how depressing is that!

Even if they did though, it wouldn't be a big deal. I don't post much of an extremely personal nature in my journal. I treat it for what it is, a conversation in a public space. I don't say anything in it I wouldn't usualy say during dinner conversation.

The very idea that people use a blog to spew the most private details in the most public kind of way is an indication of a kind of insantiy that disturbes me too much to accuratly define.
