A different kind of question

I'm interested in joining some LiveJournal communities, but I don't have time to read a zillion posts a day, so I'm just trying to pick the cream of the crop. I'm looking for a wicca/pagan-type discussion community; does anyone have any recommendations?

By the way, I'm still Christian, just interested in learning about magick. I am integrating some of it into my daily life, but my faith in Christ remains.

contradiction alert! contradiction alert!

Careful.

A Christian looking to bring some magic into her life... If you don't see the contradiction, then you need to rethink your statement about your faith!

But that's just MHO.

Maybe so... what I ended up doing was just using some colored candles when I pray. It makes me feel better to have something tangible there.

Try the rosary; it's tangible, it's complicated, and it's got the cool, zen-state inducing repetitiveness of ritual prayer. You can buy a green, Celtic looking rosary, a black and shiny fancy schmancy one, or a simple, primitive one with wooden beads and hemp string...all kinds. It's a very powerful prayer.

AND you can buy one of those cheesy big pillar gel candles in a jar with the sticker of Mary on it, or the Sacred Heart....

Ummmm... this is revealing my ignorance of Catholicism, but what is the prayer that goes with the rosary? And where would I go to get one, anyway? They're not exactly big on the market where I come from.

Those candles? Those rock. In a cheesy way.

Are you Catholic?
