Ever sat down to read The Two Towers and gotten to the part where Pippin and Merry are giving the others pipeweed and talking about how good the pipeweed is and trying to find pipes for the pipeweed and pulling out pipes for the pipeweed... You're like, Dude, they are totally getting stoned.

Ever read Harvard Lampoon's "Bored of the Rings?" It was written in the late 60s, early 70s, completely lampooning the trilogy down to the maps. Good stuff.
