the latest addition to the Kellinator lexicon

My new pet phrase for someone I think is being an absolute moron:

"You're smoking all the crack in the world!!"

My hubby [livejournal.com profile] el_destructo, who is on the road, sent me an email this morning. He watched last night's episode of World Poker Tour, which I still haven't watched (it's waiting patiently on TiVo). Apparently in this line, Destructo is paraphrasing something actually said on WPT:

Everybody at the table is ugly, and one of them is possibly the ugliest man ever to chew on his own tongue and say "quack." You'll see what I mean.

I can't wait to see what he means. And I can't wait until I have the opportunity to refer to someone as the ugliest person ever to chew on their own tongue and say "quack."

That's like the best phrase ever. I shall have to use it, and while I'm at it I think I shall also add [livejournal.com profile] el_destructo!

And now that I've watched the episode, I can give the backstory. One of the poker players had this hideous nervous tic, in which he'd move his huge, cowlike tongue back and forth to the sides of his mouth and seemingly gnaw on it.

This guy also was incredibly irritating. He would constantly say, "quack quack," which is when you bet $22,000 ... needless to say, there's backstory upon backstory for the origin of that phrase.

He had an elongated Missing-Link-style forehead, mismatched nostrils (one was twice the size of the other), and he kept gnawing on his own tongue. He was, indeed, the ugliest man ever to chew on his own tongue and say "quack."

As for adding [livejournal.com profile] el_destructo, excellent. Though he doesn't post much. He also has a weekly comic strip, Basic Instructions, over at [livejournal.com profile] basic_inst, which I think is quite worth adding.
