To con or not to con...

I'm still wavering on whether or not I'm going to DragonCon. At this point I'm thinking I'm leaning towards getting a one-day pass for Saturday, possibly another for Sunday if I'm having enough fun at official stuff. If I like it, next year I'll plan ahead and do it with all the trimmings (costume etc.). And I don't believe I need a badge just to hang out with you guys at the hotel, depending on location of course.

You can hang out on the concourse for no charge also. If you do make it, come see Trybalaka perform Saturday night!!!

There's plenty of places you can hang without a badge, especially the more popular smoking areas and drinking spots. But if you are partying at the hotel in what are known as "convention areas" (Like the panel rooms, and designated con party floors, areas around consuite and ops offices), you are gonna get hassled for a badge. I only say this because I work security and I've had to spend a lotta time pissing people off for explaining that kinda stuff. The con pays for a certain amount of space in the hotel, and since it is a "members only" event, those areas are their private space, and they have a right to throw people out, since they are a "not for profit" organization, they supposedly need all the memberships they can get to pay for stuff like the hotel.
