obligatory Homicide post

For all the Homicide fans out there: TNT is airing Homicide tonight! It's one of the Law and Order/Homicide crossovers. The Law and Order half is airing at 8 pm Eastern and Homicide will be on at 9 pm Eastern.

A couple of weeks ago they aired another of the crossovers and the Homicide episode was the highest-rated drama on basic cable that week.

And while I'm on the subject, apparently yesterday was the birthday of my most-adored Homicide cast member, Richard Belzer. My mom told me. I can't believe I missed it... I'm a failure as a stalker!! Belz, forgive me!!

1. I caught the L&O/Homicide crossover on TNT a couple of weeks ago, but in a strange twist of fate I missed the L&O and watched my first ever complete episode of Homicide. Yes!

2. Thanks for the heads up for tonight. I'll be watching.

3. Belzer is a Leo, just like me! :-)

Now the question is... DID YOU LIKE HOMICIDE??? :)

Kell and I are trying to convert everyone in the world. :)

Well, I already lovedlovedloved Munch so yeah, Homicide was a no brainer. Really good stuff there. I'm just bummed that it doesn't appear to play regularly on any cable stations a la L&O...

It used to be on CourtTV. Dunno if it still is or not.

Oooooh!! If you got to see it last night, the Homicide half has one of the all-time great Munch scenes: Munch finds out Briscoe had a fling with his first ex-wife and ends up getting plastered while Briscoe hustles him at pool. Apparently Jerry Orbach got really excited about this scene, what with Law and Order's lack of getting into the characters' personal lives. "My character had sex? Cool!!"

Based on the ratings, I'm crossing my fingers that it will show up someplace. However, the good news is that the whole series is coming to DVD, with season 3 out in October...

Now I want to write a parody of the Law and Order/Homicide crossovers, with Pembleton calling the New York detectives pussies when it comes to interrogations. I've been meaning to do a Special Victims Unit parody for a while. If nothing else, it should piss off the people at FanFiction.net.

Yeah... that scene was fantastic! Poor Munch just couldn't handle it. Heh.

I'll add myself to the collective finger crossers in hopes that it makes its way back to regular TV soon...

(oh, I actually *had* seen the L&O half of last night's double ep but *not* the Homicide half... much drama!)

I figure you know this, but I have to make sure. You know that Belzer--as Det. Munch no less--is on Law&Order: SVU, right?

[identity profile] kellinator.livejournal.com 2003-08-05 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohhhhhh yeah. I watch it pretty much just for Munch. :)

Bah! I read that when it was over. I might have to bust out the Viewers Choice Top 10 from Court TV a few years ago. I need my Kellerman fix something fierce. Or is it Pembelton. Or Bayliss. So many men.. so much Homicide goodness.

Mmmmmm... the men of Homicide... *droooool*

Do you remember what the top ten were?

I didn't get a chance to watch, but I know that the one with Brodie's documentary (my favorite) is in there.
