Further hair-dye adventures

Though the purple is mostly washed out of my hair, I've now got a bit of a tint to it, and I'm discovering that I like it darker. I'm thinking about dyeing it burgundy or eggplant. Is this absolutely nuts?

There are some great burgundy and eggplant colors actually at the drug store. I think it's something like, Natural Essences, or whatever, the brand that has all of the planty names and botanical extracts has some colors that people on agf have really liked.

Also, I think darker hair would suit you. and remember, dark haired women are automatically more "mysterious"

Loreal makes a great color formula, called Casting ColorSpa or something like that. I've used it to color my hair a dark red in the fall. Leaves hair feeling great, lasts about a month or so.

Found you through [livejournal.com profile] bugaboolicious's friends list, just so you don't think I'm some crazy lady... well I am but that's a different story all together. :)

If you're looking for a cool plum/eggplant type colour I have a TON of it that I'm actually trying to get rid of. If you'd be interested. Some ColorSpa, some Feria and one other that is escaping my mind right now. Save you the 9-10$ to test something out :)

Really? That's AWESOME!! Thank you so much!!

You're more than welcome. I'd just need to know what you'd want and how to get it to ya.. I actually JUST cleaned all that stuff out of the "linen" closet and boxed it up for my move, but if you want some of it, it's all yours :)

I'm a dork, didn't tell you what colours I have...

I've got L'Oreal Casting ColorSpa in Plum Oasis and Caution Red
Garnier Lumia in African Violet and Loreal Feria in Chocolate Cherry.

Usually a couple boxes of each colour. like I said, let me know :)

Does your very kind and generous offer still stand? It's about time for me to dye again (the temporary dye didn't stay very long).

[identity profile] soulfire.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 10:13 am (UTC)(link)
It most definitely will. There is one small caveat to the offer. I'm moving in 2 weeks so the dyes were all packed away in boxes. If you're willing to wait, I'd be happy to send some to you once I'm there, like after the 4th of Sept. :) Just let me know what you'd like and where I can send it... email is probably best n' all :)

burgundy is actually a very beautiful hair color.

I've dyed my hair burgundy a number of times. I have never had any complaints from my employer that it didn't look professional and I think it looked pretty good.

Although I love royal purple, I think a nice bright banana yellow might look good :+)

my favorite, uh... "normal" hairdye is feria's purplest one. i forget what it's called, but it's the most vibrant violet i've found in the grocery aisle. =)

but also... you work at a university, right? i know academic climates vary a lot, but is there a chance they might not mind if you went full-on purple?

[identity profile] whitecrow0.livejournal.com 2003-07-21 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
No! Hair dye good! Particularly purple!

DO IT!

Feria's "Chocolate Cherry" is a gorgeous dark burgandy.

That was one of my standard colors in college. Purple hair is fun! =)

oops, I almost forgot...

Hydrience in "Hibiscus" is also very pretty. It's a little more red so it comes out really bright.
