I'm trying to upload some new icons, but the computer keeps changing them to .bmp and keeping me from using them. Any help?

Go change them to a jpeg after the computer does its own thang.

But how? I don't think I'm quite conveying how clueless I am with photo editing.

I'm assuming you have a photo editing program, yes? Open it up, open up the bmp and then do a "Save as" and hopefully it will give you the option to save it as a jpeg...

I'm not so great either but I've ran into this very same problem so I had to figure it out. :>
