One of the biggest irritations about my job

My first couple of months on the job here, as many of you know, I was a basket case, posting "Stupid Lawyer Tricks" every five minutes and bitching so much that some people took me off their friends list. Then I realized that I couldn't go on like that, taking everything so personally; it was going to drive me nuts. So I learned to laugh it off, and now most of the attitude I get is water off a duck's back.

But there are still a few things that put me through the roof.

And one of the biggest is the fact that all the Atlanta-area law firms are convinced that the sole purpose of my existence is to cater to their every need.

Listen up, fuckers!! I have professors and students to take care of!! We lend to you as a courtesy!! You are not my top priority!! Do NOT come in here expecting me to drop everything to cater to your whims!!

*exhales*

what happens if you tell them that (without the "fuckers") do you get in trouble with your boss? I'd totally do the frosty comlpiance thing when they're there and then relegate them to the bottom of the stack, personally

That's what I usually do. My boss is great. He suggested I call and leave a message that in the future, they need to call/fax their requests ahead of time or I will fling poo at them. Okay, I made that last bit up.

lol! you should have a cat in the library as the ILL mascot, and keep his/her leavings just for that reason!! you can scoop it up with one of those vented shovels and fling away!

In the past I have asked Will if we could have a cat for the office... Amy's allergic though...
