Y'know, even as a big fan I didn't think Michael Moore's acceptance speech at the Oscars was the most persuasive or wisest thing he could have done, but I have to say the fact that I live in a world where Michael Moore gets booed while people clap for Roman Polanski makes me sick.

I don't think that an awards ceremonyis the place to make political statements, but I don't think he should have been booed

I wonder how they're going to ship Roman his Oscar. Can a Holocaust film ever not win? (Well, I suppose yes, since it didn't win Best Picture). I was checking to see if Angelica Huston was clapping for him not, but they never showed her. however, nasty little Jack Nicholson was.

I meant to ask you last week, why the hell did Angelica Huston stay with skanky Jack for so long? She's class, he's crass.

I agree with you on the Holocaust movies. I have a feeling it's considered politically incorrect to vote for anything else. Then again, I haven't taken the Oscars seriously since my favorite movie (Rushmore) was completely shut out.

Maybe Angelica's one of those women who just don't know when to get out of a relationship? I have never understood anyone's attraction to that man.

Agree on the political correctness of voting for Holocaust movies, which is the only reason for Life is Beautiful winning anything (burn, Roberto).
