Well, you never know. It could be fun.

On the other hand, from the poster's art style, it looks somewhat more like shounen anime, which means aimed at boys, which means "almost certainly garbage."

All ideas are terrible.

I think it could be good times! Japanizing something American can't possibly be as painful as Americanizing something Japanese. ;)

Basically this is like if they went and made a "reimagining" of Spaceballs as a hard sci-fi action flick.

I've seen screen shots.

It looks REALLY fun.

You can see two of them on my LJ.

I rank this with equivalent integrity as the ill-fated US live-action pilot of Sailor Moon.

Bad, bad, bad idea.

Without having read the article before posting my reply, I must say that I am not surprised. Last year, IIRC, CN showed some very stylized ads featuring adolescent versions of the PPG, with long thin bodies, heavy make up and pretty much the same baby faces. I just assumed that ad was a teaser meant to gauge viewer interest in Anime-versions of the girls. For the record, btw, I have never really understood anime. No, wait, I DO understand it; I just feel rather uncomfortable with the sexualization of adolescents rampant in that genre.
