Question

Why are all the cute boys at Innovox gay?

Because the straight ones stopped going when it was overrun by loud drum circles ;)

I don't know. Maybe it's a higher power's way of laughing at us.

Oh.. also I think I have only once ever seen a reasonably cute girl who was not with people already, and when I tried to ask her out she said she was leaving for New York.

Not that that answers your question, but it is a sort of reversal.. (i.e., why don't I ever find cute single straight or bi girls when I go there?)

You mean guys still ask girls out? Neat.

Sometimes we do.. the bigger question to me is: do girls still ever say yes?

Granted, most of the ones I've asked have already had boyfriends... but it's the ones who feign interest then leave you hanging that really annoy me.

Yes, occasionally we do say yes.

My problem is I actually believed that stuff about "guys like it when chicks ask them out!!" which I'm now convinced is not true. There's this guy I've made acquaintance with at Innovox, but about a week ago I asked him what he was doing on Saturday night. He said he was working, and I haven't seen him there since. I hate to think that someone would actually avoid Innovox because they didn't want to be in the same room with me (and yes, I am paranoid enough to believe that).

Well.. guys who are too timid to ask girls out but not too timid to talk to girls would surely like being approached by girls.. but then there is always the issue of awkwardness when someone you are not interested in approaches you.. and no matter which sex is doing the asking, there is always that possibility that the victim, er, target is not interested.

If I went by the number of misses I've had, I could conclude that girls don't like guys to talk to them.. but instead I will focus on the positive experiences I've had, to build my confidence.

And though I doubt he's avoiding Innovox to avoid you, even if he is.. if someone is that uptight about things that they would stop going to a place they like just to avoid some slightly awkward eye contact, they've got a problem.
