First day of class
The good news is, they laughed at my reading-Beowulf-barefoot-in-the-snow joke, and a couple of others, too. Smart kids.
I'm not really sure how it went. I felt silly and clumsy, and I felt like there were too many long pauses and nervous smiles on my part. And I didn't think to go around the room and have everyone introduce themselves, like Katy did in her session. But hopefully I can do that next week.
The really good news is, the kids seemed to all be bright and articulate. I think the discussion should go well. And it doesn't matter if they like me or not as long as they learn from me. But I really want them to like me anyway.
