kids used to make fun of me in the third grade for pronouncing "comfortable" with four syllables, so I just assumed I was wrong (English isn't my parents' first language, so I was wrong a lot).
how weird - I was actually right! :) I just 'corrected' my mom on this one - should've looked it up. ;)
Yeah... most people seem to pronounce it "comft-or-bull," which always weirds me out because they're switching around the T and the R in "comfort" to pronounce it that way. Yet they never pronounce "comfort" as "comftor."
