I want to believe.

I want to believe in God. I want to believe in a just universe. I want to believe in my friends, my family. I want to believe in happy endings. I want to believe in true love. I want to believe that dreams come true. I want to believe that truth will out. I want to believe in fate. I want to believe in karma. I want to believe in Santa Claus. I want to believe that, as Anne Frank said, "deep down people are really good."

Most of all, I want to believe in myself.

in all those things, with different names. I believe in happiness behind all sorrow. I believe that the human race IS getting better and more humane. I believe that the advances in technology are making us a better world. I believe that every piece of bad news is more proof that someone is reaching out to others for help and validation. I believe that people change slowly because slow change is permanent change. I believe in my friends ability to keep me sane and in check. I trust in the future because I am part of that future. I believe that Kelly will be happy more often than not because she knows how to learn and change even when it hurts. I believe that Kelly will always be willing to look up ond smile because she knows that true faith doesn't disappear. I believe that Kelly will find what she's looking for because she believes there is something worth looking for. I believe Kelly will always be my friend because she doesn't run away from flaws. I believe in myself, even when I'm scared, confused, hurt, lost and sad because I have people like Kelly to always remind me that there are doors everywhere... even when I don't want to open them. I believe in Kelly because she believes in herself especially when she is questioning herself because deep down she knows that it is through questioning that we learn, grow and evolve. I believe in Kelly's love because real love evolves. I believe in Kelly and I believe in Me because I love Kelly and I love me.
