Thank you

I can't say this was a good weekend, but one good thing did come of it:

I realized that I am loved. There are more than a few of you out there who, for whatever reason, really do care for me. Who are there for me. Who love me.

I may have a job that drives me crazy, no money to speak of, an apartment that should be condemned, a love life that's a train wreck of near-epic proportions, not to mention I lost on Jeopardy, but thanks to my friends, I'm a rich woman.

I love you all.

Based on a conversation with the incomparable vernard, I'd like to make a request...

When you see me being ridiculously self-deprecating, please call me on it. It's one of those things I've been doing for so long that I don't even really realize I'm doing it anymore.

Today I ate with a co-worker at Doc Chey's. At the end of the meal, we popped open our fortune cookies and read the fortunes.

I looked at my co-worker and said "yeah. The ability to piss me off."
