People have been coming in the library this morning acting like total caricature negative stereotypes, the same stereotypes I'm usually railing against. It makes me mad.
The thing I thoroughly dislike is when a certain group of people, regardless of who they might be, have a negative stereotype they constantly rail and rant and fight against, and then choose to act that particular stereotype out anyway, thus enforcing the idea. For instance: I know some people are very bright who live out in the country, act like they are ignorant on a regular basis, and refuse to change, because they themselves in their own way look down on education, culture, etc. Here's a hint: If you go out and drink enough to ride on skis down a dirt road by a tow line hitched to a 69 chevy and then get your ass tore up when you hit gravel, most people aren't going to percieve you as a genius. It worsens if this sort of thing happens on a regular basis. Even if you did score remarkably well (over 140) on your IQ test. Even if you can build an engine out of five peices of scrap metal and a box of rubber bands in less than an hour. Yes, i know these people.

Judicious use of a high-velocity metal ejector is recommended for keeping stereotypes away.
